We are excited to announce the birth of our third child, Sarah Jane, on August 28, 2009! She came 3 weeks early, weighed only 5 lbs. 9 oz. and measured 18 1/2 inches long.
Many of you know that my high blood pressure sent me in for an early delivery. After delivery, Sarah Jane gave us a scare when she stopped breathing while I was nursing. Bo ran her down to the nursey where the nurses rushed to her. She recovered fine and after the doctor looked her over decided to keep her an extra day in the hospital for blood work results and observation.
We were released on Monday and then Tuesday evening, she stopped breathing again just before I was going to feed her. I completely lost it! Bo and I rushed her to the ER while a neighbor stayed with Meg and Jack. After 3 more days in the hospital, an upper GI exam and more blood work, the diagnosis was acid reflux. Thankfully we were sent home with an apnea monitor and medicine. She will need the monitor for at least 2 months.
Needless to say this has been overwhelming and stressful for us, but the Lord has reminded us that we are in His hands and our every breathe is a gift from Him. Thank you for all your prayers for us during this time.

My, is she beautiful! I see the Wheeler resemblance, but she is distinctly Sarah Jane too! Are her eyes dark? I've been praying for ya'll too!
congratulations!! she is beautiful. So stressful with the breathing- I know you are so thankful for the apnea monitor. We'll keep you all in our prayers, and that you will find sleep in the corners of life, too!!!!
wow gayle. i was totally out of the loop. God just brought you to my mind and now i know why. what a sweet baby girl. i will be praying for you guys. today i came across a picture of all the new mommies in Atlanta for New Years Conference almost 5 years ago! it seems like longer than that yet it has gone by so fast too.
